Kaz Computer Services Limited- April 2001
From the AFR, March 1st, page 26;
Start quote:
Kaz's Ausdata lassoes another big bank.
The ANZ bank and Kaz Computing Services are expected to announce today that
the listed services supplier has landed an imaging system contract with the
bank worth up to $20 million through its Ausdata subsidiary. Market
speculation regarding the deal helped drive trading in Kaz shares, which
yesterday matched their peak when they closed up 4c at $1.47. It is
understood the ANZ system will be based on Ausdata's document and image
processing system software and will deliver cheque clearing processing,
reconciliation capabilities and a full digital imaging system for all
cheques. In November, Ausdata won a contract with the Reserve Bank of
Australia to process up to 100,000 government cheques a day. The company
was an established supplier of document processing services when it was
acquired by Kaz, traditionally a mid-range systems specialist, in May last
year.

As I found out many years ago, buying the fact, or trading off newspaper
items, meant I was buying tops. That got me into Dow theory, and of
course, charting. The company has growing earnings, charts help us time a
better entry, which you've got now. This is a company to learn more about.
Downside to watch :
On a present p/e of 71, one would need to watch closely to ensure the
future anticipated earnings do indeed materialize, which is what the
present p/e of 71 is pricing in of course. Very good mid point retracement
on the chart this month, which is where buying support comes in usually, as
is the case here.
