The speculators (and mums & dads) are back.
Now here's an interesting thing. We have posted an image of an article
(write-up) about POS Media, that went into Saturday's AFR Weekend Edition
3-4th of June. Relate this to the chart.
5th of June, the next days trading, a top. I see this often. Dow theory
can teach us a lot here: If it's in the news........
What I find more interesting is the run up Thursday and Friday into the
weekend. Coincidence? I find myself, the market somehow always seems to
know these announcements or write ups are coming.
PS, unrelated to the above:
I note with great interest the latest government GST/oil company stoush.
For me this gives great insight into who holds the real power in Canberra.
There is no way the government (little Johnnie) would dictate/threaten the
oil companies if they held any strategic importance to the government.
Observe that the government would never come out all guns firing against
our media barons, the 6 o clock news slot being too important. Much more
economic value is now being created via spectrum/telecommunication and the
global rights attached to this medium than in the oil fields. Oil's had
its day.
Watch events closely for relevant listed spectrum owners. It's what the
government doesn't say that's more important. Remember, Senator Alston has
guaranteed the free to air TV stations no competition till 2007. The
government will have to now defend that decision and future legislation
will be designed accordingly.
