APS Chemicals (APY) is building a base around $1.00 after a heavy sell off
from the Asian crisis effect. Any attempted rallies have run into a wall
of sellers taking advantage of slight rises to sell; confirmed by the On
Balance Volume indicator showing more volume on downside moves since Oct
'98.
From October the weekly RSI has shown divergence from the price. Note the
heavy end of financial year selling; cursor highlighted volume. That has
the hallmarks of a final bottom proceeding a change in trend.
If combining with fundamentals, 7 1/2% yield, P/E of 11 and dividend cover
of 1.18 times earnings, these are not demanding. The Net Asset Backing for
APY is $1.30 so buying at present, you are effectively buying $1.30's value
for $1.08 - assuming the Balance Sheet values are in order.
This is how a chart formation can help timing your investment in reasonable
fundamentals. Note how you did not have to even consider buying this stock
whilst price was below the 20 week moving average.
